Garden City voters have rejected a proposed 2010-11 school district budget that called for spending $98,275,256, an increase of 3.21 percent over this year's budget. The failed plan called for cutting junior varsity sports at the high school and eliminating intramural sports at the high school. School budgets in Uniondale, Hempstead and Roosevelt all passed Tuesday night. Past NNL stories on the Garden City budget: Garden City Parents Say School Cuts to Crush Quality |
